Transforming School Systems.
Driving Student Success.

At ERS, our goal is to change the way people, time, and money are used in urban education so that all students receive the support they need to succeed.

Education Resource Strategies, Inc. is a non-profit organization that works with large urban school systems to transform their resource use to dramatically improve student learning. Our mission is to be a catalyst for positive change by helping educational leaders rethink how they use system- and school-level resources—people, time, and money—to support strategies for improved instruction and performance.

ERS is the only organization with more than 10 years of experience working with the largest urban school systems in the country in the area of strategic resource allocation. We have worked with more than 20 school systems nationwide, including 13 of the 100 largest urban U.S. school systems and worked hand-in-hand with our educational partners to introduce solutions that are both innovative and effective. This experience gives ERS unrivaled knowledge of the issues facing school systems.

Our work is focused in two key areas:

Strategic and Analytic Support

We work with school system leaders to analyze how they use resources, developing an ERS resource map  that shows how they organize people, time, and money. This is the first crucial step in aligning resources with system goals. We also provide practical tools, training, and strategies for reallocating resources to support improved student performance.

Advocacy and Reform

We also reach out more broadly to reform organizations and seek to influence the national conversation on school resource issues by:

  • Conducting and publishing research on areas closely aligned with our school system work.
  • Developing tools to help decision-makers understand strategic resource use issues and implement improvement strategies. For example, our ResourceCheck™ tool helps school systems diagnose their own resource allocations and identify potential misalignments with their strategic goals.
  • Making our data, methodologies and findings available to other reformers and technical assistance providers.

ERS shares your commitment to student success. And we know how to help your school system and your students achieve their potential.  Please contact us to learn how ERS can help your school system achieve its goals.
