Karen is responsible for business development, strategic planning, and internal operations. She manages our grants and proposals for outside partnerships and our internal knowledge and external communications strategy, ensuring we are capturing lessons learned on the ground and then disseminating them to the field in a way that supports improved practice. Karen writes and speaks extensively on the topic of district level resource and district management of school level turnaround including leading the development of several ERS online tools as well as the ERS series, Practical Tools for District Transformation.
Prior to joining ERS, Karen worked as a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments. Over a 15 year span at Fidelity, Karen worked in many areas, including the Retail Mutual Fund and Brokerage Businesses and the 401K division. Before joining Fidelity, Karen was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company.
Karen enjoys being outside with her husband and three kids and going on outdoor adventures across the country. She hikes, runs, and plays on an Ultimate Frisbee team. Karen is on the Board of Trustees for the Boston Children’s Museum.
