Broad Center CFO Virtual Convening #3 w/ ERS

ERS will lead a discussion on the finance / budget impacts of key decisions that your school systems are about to make on reopening this fall.

As systems design comeback models for SY2021, they face an unprecedented challenge of designing service delivery that responds to student need equitably, protects physical health of students and staff and is financially viable. We will be discussing the economics of key decisions like remote staffing ratios, hybrid models, and redesigning instructional staff roles to explore how systems can most cost-effectively prioritize in-person instruction for the highest need students, within existing resource constraints and community context.

ERS CA Strategic CFO/CBO Network Virtual Sessions

Our final spring/summer virtual convening will be held Tuesday, August 25.

    Session Description

Now that systems have selected models, organized resources to support models, and are preparing to (or have already) opened school, it will be critical to have in place plans for continuous improvement that allow the system and schools to adapt to changing contexts. During this session, we will share insights from our district support work on what other systems have done to enable continuous improvement, and also take some time to hear lessons learned/wins/watch outs from CFOs who have already re-opened.

*Please note, given how quickly things our moving, we may adjust the topic as we get closer to the date. It might be that another topic is more pressing or it would be better to discuss continuous improvement in the fall, based on where we are in our district support.
