How to adjust your settings to ensure you receive ERS newsletters

Due to changes in our email systems, some of our newsletter subscribers may not be receiving our content. Let's fix this - we want to stay in touch!

If you have subscribed in the past but have recently stopped receiving emails to your Inbox, use the quick instructions below to fix your settings. If you're unsure, or if you just signed up for our newsletters, you can test your email settings.

Apple Mail Users (i.e. The pre-installed mail app on an iPhone - which may display email from Gmail, Outlook, or other clients)

  • Search for "Karen Miles" or "Karen Hawley Miles" in Spam or Junk, to locate any emails you may have received from us.
  • Swipe to the left on the email, as it appears in your inbox (i.e., do not open the email).
  • Tap "More."
  • Tap "Mark..."
  • Tap "Mark as Not Junk."
  • That's it!


Gmail Users

In the Gmail mobile app (i.e. the app you might download; not the Mail app that comes with the phone. For that app, use the Apple Mail instructions above)

  • Search for "Karen Miles" or "Karen Hawley Miles" in your Inbox (which will searach Promotions as well) and Junk, to locate any emails you may have received from us
  • Click the three dots in the very top right corner (on the red bar)
  • Click "Move to"
  • Select "Primary"
  • That's it!


At Gmail.com (in the browser)

  • Search for "Karen Miles" or "Karen Hawley Miles" in your Inbox (which will search the Promotions tab) and Junk, to locate any email you might have received from us
  • Find the curved arrow in the top right corner of the email (i.e., the Reply button).
  • Click the down arrow next to it (i.e., the More button).
  • Click "Add Karen Hawley Miles to Contacts list."
  • You can also drag that email to your inbox for extra measure.
  • That's it!

At Inbox.google.com

  • Search for "Karen Miles" or "Karen Hawley Miles" in your Inbox (which will search the "Promotions" tab) and Junk, to locate any email you may have received from us.
  • Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the email.
  • Click "Remove from Promos."
  • You can also drag that email to your inbox for extra measure.
  • That's it!


Outlook Users

  • Search for "Karen Miles" or "Karen Hawley Miles" in your Spam folder, to locate any email you might have received from us.
  • Right-click on the subject line of the unopened email (i.e., in the left-hand column, where you find the list of new email).
  • Hover over "Junk." 
  • Click on "Not Junk."
  • On the confirmation dialogue box, select "Always trust email from karenm@erstrategies.org" and click "OK."
  • You can also drag the email to your inbox for good measure.
  • That's it!
