Summit Helps School Leaders Face Money Issues

ERS brought together fourteen school districts from across the country to discuss new funding strategies that better assure equity across a system. Held in Baltimore, MD, districts discussed the challenges and successes they’ve had implementing systems that give more budget control to principals and often add “weights” to students that might need more resources. These funding strategies have various names including Fair Student Funding, Weighted Student Funding, Student Based Budgeting. Thanks to the Carnegie Corporation funding this event. Conference proceedings will be available soon.
