ERS Team
Alex Ferro
Alex supports ERS’ work helping school systems make strategic decisions about how they use people, time, and money to improve student outcomes. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, he partners with district leaders to evaluate programs, identify opportunities for improvement, and design solutions that better support students and schools. His work draws on experience across secondary school programming, career pathways, and educational research.
Prior to joining ERS, Alex worked at Boston Public Schools as a Secondary Schools Analyst, where he supported district initiatives focused on college, career, and life readiness for high school students. Before that, he launched an Innovation Career Pathways program at Medway High School and taught mathematics at the middle and high school levels. Alex also worked as a Research Analyst with Boston University’s Wheelock Educational Policy Center, where he conducted research and analysis on educator workforce trends, school leadership, staffing, and professional learning. He holds an M.A. in Educational Policy Studies from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Arizona State University.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys taking walks with his wife and golden retriever, Jameson, attending live concerts and theater performances, and cheering on his hometown Buffalo Bills.
