In their role as an Associate Consultant, Arnelle joins the ERS Memphis-Shelby County Schools team to evolve the district’s student-based budgeting strategy in the wake of the passage of Tennessee’s new student-based state funding formula called TISA.
Prior to joining ERS, Arnelle studied Education Policy at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Their focus during the program was analyzing the U.S. educational landscape, understanding the potential impacts of advancing educational equity, and promoting rural education visibility. While in graduate school, Arnelle interned with Harvard’s Strategic Data Project at the Center for Education Policy Research. Not soon after graduate school, Arnelle joined the Education Pioneers Summer Fellows Program where they conducted a school family engagement practice landscape analysis for an education tech company called the Family Engagement Lab. Before graduate school, Arnelle taught high school English and Spanish in rural Arkansas, twenty minutes away from where they grew up!
Outside of working at ERS, Arnelle enjoys learning bass guitar, practicing salsa, riding bikes, spending time with loved ones, and a plethora of other hobbies!
