Betty Chang
Betty leads ERS’s Field Building efforts to empower school system leaders to make transformative shifts in resources, structures, and practices, through the development and delivery of toolkits, case studies, trainings, workshops, events, and more. Betty also leads ERS’s Alliance for Resource Equity partnership with the Education Trust.
At ERS, Betty has led and supported resource use diagnostic work, school funding system redesign, and implementation support work in dozens of partner districts including Baltimore City, Denver, Duval County, Memphis, Nashville, and Rochester. Betty has also led the development of some of ERS’s most popular tools and publications, including Budget Hold’em, the Districts at Work series, Igniting the Learning Engine, Student-Based Budgeting Toolkit, and The Education Combination.
Before joining ERS, Betty worked at Eduventures where she supported K-12 and higher education corporations with business planning and strategy. Betty holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard University, an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from Harvard, and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
