Based in the ERS West Coast office, Christina joined ERS in 2017 and has worked with Los Angeles, Spring Branch, TX, and a group of districts implementing new financial transparency requirements brought about by the Every Student Succeeds Act. As a member of the Los Angeles team, Christina led ERS' strategic resource map financial analysis and researched approaches to help the district improve attendance. Christina also supports ERS' field building efforts in California and is a co-author of an ERS/WestEd case study on the development of California's Local Control Funding Formula.
Prior to joining ERS, Christina earned her MPP at the University of California, Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy, where she performed research on teacher labor markets in partnership with the Center for American Progress. As an Education Pioneers Fellow, she developed a new application and rubric for Oakland's charter school petitions. Christina also previously served as Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Bob Casey, helping to develop education legislation to reduce bullying and harassment and provide funding to help low-income districts offer well-rounded curricula.
Outside of work, Christina enjoys exploring California with her wife and son, reading the newspaper in print, and keeping in touch with friends near and far.
