Director
Courtney joined ERS in 2013 and is a leader on ERS’ Funding and Portfolio Practice Area. Through her work, Courtney supported groups of districts and states prepare for the new transparency requirements brought about by the Every Student Succeeds Act, in ways that leverage the new requirement to improve equity across and within schools. Courtney also led our work in Oakland Unified Public Schools conducting a citywide study analyzing resource use across the city—including both district and charter schools. She also supported Cleveland Metropolitan School District in the implementation of student-based budgeting, helping the district align its funding model with its overall portfolio reform strategy. Additional experience at ERS include supporting districts assess how they are using and allocating resources, as well as conducting a cross-district study of spending on professional learning.
Prior to joining ERS, Courtney worked at Public Consulting Group, Inc. (PCG), a public sector management and technology consulting firm. She worked in the education practice area and focused on education technology, specializing in Medicaid and special education data management systems. With PCG she worked with numerous urban school districts across New England.
Outside of ERS, Courtney enjoys reading, staying active, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
