David Rosenberg


David Rosenberg leads ERS’ efforts to transform the teaching job through district, state and national partnerships. In this role, David provides strategic counsel to state and local education leaders and facilitates the national Coalition to Reimagine the Teaching Role, which is working to create the conditions where all K-12 educators thrive in collaborative and sustainable roles, so that all students realize their unique potential.

David leads ERS’ Human Capital Practice Area and is a co-author of Growing Great Teachers, which describes how district leaders can sustainably provide differentiated supports for rookie teachers, and Igniting the Learning Engine, a study of how the most effective systems organize for strategic, job-embedded professional learning. Since 2023, David has taught a course in Education Leadership at at Columbia Business School.

Prior to joining ERS, David led development of Teach For America’s inaugural consumer insights function and market-leading online strategy. He is an alumnus of McKinsey & Company and the political media firm GMMB; author of original research on the potential impact of a federal tax credit for small political donations; and co-founder of the service organization Hands On DC.

A graduate of Cornell University and Columbia Business School, David is also an avid baseball fan and former Little League coach who has been known to squeeze in a trip to the ballpark during business trips and vacations. David and his family live in Cambridge, MA
