Heather Peske

Dr. Heather Peske currently serves as President of the National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ), where she leads efforts to ensure every student has access to effective teachers—and every teacher has the opportunity to be effective. 

Prior to joining NCTQ, Dr. Peske served as Senior Associate Commissioner for Instructional Support at the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, where she oversaw statewide efforts on curriculum, instruction, and educator effectiveness. During her time with MA DESE, the state saw record high graduation rates and the highest NAEP performance scores in the country. 

Dr. Peske began her career as an elementary school teacher and has held leadership roles at The Education Trust and Teach Plus.
