As a member of the Human Resources Team, Kara lays the foundation for ERS to maximize its impact. She hires strong professionals and then meaningfully connects them to their work at ERS to grow and retain their talent. Kara leads equitable, strategic talent acquisition experiences to hire professionals with diverse skills, identities, and experiences. Resultantly, ERS consistently hires team members committed to our mission with the skills to support our state, school, and district partners. Kara also designs comprehensive, inspiring orientation and onboarding initiatives rooted in adult learning theory and industry best practices.

Prior to ERS, Kara served as a higher education professional for 10 years. She led strategic student success initiatives to direct resources towards students most in need of support to persist. Most recently, at the University of South Florida - Tampa, she innovated and refined employee lifecycle experiences for the Residential Education Team to reduce bias, increase staff accountability, and enhance professional development opportunities for a team of 220 employees. 

Outside of work, Kara enjoys quality time with her goldendoodle, indoor cycling classes, crafting the perfect latte, and adventuring with loved ones.
