Partner and Managing Director
Karen has been a member of the ERS leadership team since 2005. She oversees ERS' research and product development, strategic planning, and internal operations. During her tenure the organization has grown from five to over 45 employees. Over the past decade she has worked to understand and document transformation efforts in school systems across the country. Most recently she has lead the development of our School System 20/20 framework and diagnostic—a data-driven approach to creating and tracking whole-system redesign. Karen has worked with the Michigan Department of Education to develop turnaround supports for the lowest-performing schools in the state, and with district leaders across the country to explore opportunities to reallocate resources to drive improved student outcomes.
Prior to joining ERS, Karen worked as a Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments. Over a 15-year span at Fidelity, Karen worked in many areas, including the Retail Mutual Fund and Brokerage Businesses and the 401K division. Before joining Fidelity, Karen was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company. She holds a B.A. in math from Princeton University.
Karen enjoys being outside with her husband and three kids and taking outdoor adventures across the country. She hikes, runs, and plays ultimate frisbee. Karen is on the Board of Trustees of the Boston Children’s Museum.
