Kaylen is currently working with the Baltimore team to support the district's COVID-19 school re-entry planning process as well as its continuous improvement strategy.
Before joining ERS, Kaylen earned her B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh with minors in both Computer Science and Nonfiction Writing. During her senior year there, she interned at Carnegie Mellon University's ArticuLab, evaluating the sociolinguistic impact of a culturally-aligned educational technology. This experience helped spark her interest in education. After graduating, she studied Computational Linguistics at Brandeis University and honed her data analysis skills. She most recently worked in data integration at Ellevation Education, an ed-tech company that builds software to support English learners in grades K-12 nationwide.
When she's not at work, Kaylen enjoys reading, being outside, going to concerts, and baking cookies. She also devotes time to caring for her very talkative cat and her growing collection of houseplants.
