Mark Heath

Manager

Email Mark

As a manager, Mark has played a critical role in leveraging analysis, strategies, and solutions to drive transformational change in schools and districts as they respond to new and increased student needs. In addition to supporting shifts to districts and schools through equity-centered financial analyses, Mark has recently led ERS’ work in supporting more strategic schedules and staffing models in secondary schools including:

  • Authoring ESSER guidebooks for spending, scheduling, and staffing – with a focus on financial sustainability
  • Leading Dallas ISD middle schools through a master schedule redesign – from visioning to bell schedules and staffing plans
  • Creating a progress monitoring system for expanded postsecondary pathways in East Baton Rouge Parish School System
  • Developing guidance for strategic schedules for District of Columbia Public Schools.

Mark is a career educator and the best part of his job is coaching junior team members. Prior to joining ERS, he was a high school teacher at Milton Academy, where he taught government and economics electives, served as a dormitory parent, class dean, and supported the Office of Multiculturalism and Community Development. He also led several summer programs and coached novice teachers.

Beyond ERS, you can find Mark singing with his a cappella group, trying any new form of exercise possible (the current list includes gymnastics and tennis), and watching his favorite YouTube chefs.
