Since joining ERS in 2020, Mark has supported several district and field-building projects in planning for sustainable shifts to districts and schools as they respond to new and increased needs from the pandemic. Specifically, his work has included:

  • Financial analysis for Indianapolis Public School
  • Strategic budgeting and cost-calculating to quantify and size district investment priorities in Metro Nashville Public School
  • Leading Dallas ISD middle schools in school day redesign – from visioning to master schedule and staffing plans – to strategically address students and teachers needs with their additional days in SY21-22
  • Profiling schools and districts implementing strategic shifts as part of ERS’ Power Strategies series
  • Creating ESSER guidebooks for spending, scheduling, and staffing – with a focus on financial sustainability for upcoming school years

Mark is a career educator and prior to joining ERS, he was a high school teacher at Milton Academy. There, he taught government and economics electives, while also supporting students as a dormitory parent, class dean, and in the Office of Multiculturalism and Community Development. He also led several summer programs and enjoyed coaching novice teachers.

Beyond ERS, you can find Mark singing with his a cappella group, wishing he skipped today’s Crossfit class, and watching other people cook on Netflix, YouTube, or FaceTime.
