Mauro currently works as part of the Indianapolis team, helping district and school leaders reimagine the teaching job to make it more dynamic, rewarding, collaborative, sustainable, and flexible. Before joining the Indianapolis team Mauro provided direct support and group workshops to cohorts of districts in Indiana and Tennessee as part of the ESSER strategy team, and before this he partnered with Tulsa Public Schools for a year to conduct a wide range of analyses around enrollment projections, magnet schools, and Central Office staff composition.
Prior to starting at ERS, Mauro studied Public Policy and Psychology at the University of Chicago and held several positions in the educational field, including team leader at Jumpstart, intern at the Department of Student Assessment in Chicago Public Schools, and educator at Peer Health Exchange.
Outside of work Mauro enjoys playing chess in parks, going to live music events, and biking around Boston.
