Principal Associate
While at ERS, Molly has worked closely with district budget directors in Lowell, MA; Victoria, TX; and Washington, DC to develop budget allocation systems that more equitably support each districts’ schools. She partnered with principals in Indianapolis and Chicago to develop schedules that meet students’ learning needs and allow them to explore – including during COVID-19 virtual learning. She and her teammates have also aided district leaders in Highline, WA; Dallas, TX; and San Diego, CA in understanding the patterns in their districts’ resource use through ERS’s Strategic System Snapshot.
Molly wrote for ERS's Districts at Work series of case studies, diving into the shifts in central office processes and school resources that eight school systems are making to help students succeed. Researching and writing these case studies in partnership with expert district teams deepened an interest in the habits, team structures, and data systems that central offices use to support principals - and in the obstacles that too often keep them from doing so.
Prior to joining ERS, she earned her B. S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University. She spent her afternoons in Yale's Center for Teaching and Learning, where she supported a team that trains college science instructors to bring inclusive teaching strategies and active learning methods into their labs and lecture halls.
On her days off, Molly is gradually hiking her way through New Hampshire's White Mountains with any friends or family who can be convinced that the rocks at the top are better than the ones at the bottom.
