Over the last three years, Rony has supported numerous partner districts on strategic resource use. He has worked with large urban districts such as Memphis and Indianapolis in their adoption of Student-Based Budgeting (SBB), a method of allocating school funding to improve transparency and equity. In addition to this system-wide support, Rony has worked closely with school leaders in Oakland and Memphis in order to develop innovative school designs and strategies.
Prior to joining ERS, Rony majored in Economics and minored in Social Anthropology at Harvard University. He previously taught 9th grade mathematics for Breakthrough New York, helping underserved students beat the achievement gap. Rony has also interned as a summer analyst in TechnoServe, providing management solutions to rural communities in Peru.
In his spare time, Rony loves to read fantasy novels and enjoys traveling to new places. If Rony is not in Boston, you are likely to find him visiting his amazing nieces and nephews in New Jersey.
