Since joining ERS, Ruby has worked with a variety of district partners, including those in Fort Worth, Los Angeles, and Hartford. She has enjoyed helping districts work through resource allocation challenges, including identifying inefficiencies within district budgets, redesigning the school planning process, and improving the teacher and school leader value proposition. Within ERS, Ruby is a member of the Human Capital Practice Area, and has a particular interest in redefining the teacher role. She has also organized New Hire Orientation, and is very motivated by the diverse experiences and perspectives of her ERS teammates!
Prior to joining ERS, Ruby was a sixth grade bilingual teacher in Elizabeth, NJ. Her classroom experience led to an interest in education policy, so she went back to school as a student to get her MPA. During that time she worked as an education consultant at the Center for Public Research and Leadership at Columbia University, and came to ERS excited to keep building her consulting skills within the K-12 context.
Outside of work, Ruby enjoys exploring Boston and hanging out at parks with her husband and their dog, Blaze. She also loves anything artsy, and can often be found perusing craft stores in search of supplies for her latest project.
