Sam Brobeck

Strategy and Partnerships Lead

As Strategy and Partnerships Lead, Sam is responsible for managing ERS’ district and state project scoping and partner cultivation process. To carry out this work, Sam supports ERS consulting team leads to design and deliver partnerships that meet school system needs, maintains ERS’ data-driven understanding of the school district partner market, and leads the organization’s ongoing progress monitoring protocols.

As a consultant at ERS, Sam supported and led a range of school system partnerships that span the scope of ERS’ service lines, including system-wide resource mapping in Portland, OR, budget process support in Cleveland, OH, strategic planning support in Holyoke, MA, and capacity building around strategic scheduling with the Nebraska Department of Education.

Prior to joining ERS, Sam served as the eighth grade Math and Algebra 1 teacher at Grizzlies Prep Charter School in Memphis, TN. Outside of the classroom, he also served as a SCORE Tennessee Educator Fellow, a member of the Tennessee State Board of Education’s Charter Application Review Committee, and a Rappaport Institute Public Finance Fellow. Sam earned a B.A. in Political Economy and Urban Studies from Rhodes College, a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University, and an Ed.M in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

When he is not working, Sam enjoys exploring Boston and the New England region, traveling to each Major League Baseball stadium (19 so far!), and, as a lifelong southerner, eating the best barbeque he can get his hands on.
