ERS Team

Sarah Seyler
As Director of People, Sarah leads ERS’s efforts to cultivate a high-impact, inclusive learning organization where employees have the support they need to do great work in service of our mission. She oversees many of the systems and experiences that shape what it means to work at ERS, from onboarding and professional learning to career development, performance management, compensation, staffing and capacity planning, and organizational health. Sarah partners closely with leaders across the organization to strengthen talent practices, foster a healthy and inclusive culture, and align people strategy with the organization’s evolving needs and priorities to maximize impact.
In her current role, Sarah draws on nearly a decade of consulting experience at ERS and a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and work. Prior to joining the People Team, she partnered with school, system, and national education leaders across the country. As a consultant at ERS, she supported and led a range of partnerships focused on transforming how people, time, and money are used in schools to accelerate learning for students, redesign teacher compensation systems to increase students’ access to the strongest instruction, and bring an ROI approach to budgeting and decision-making. This experience continues to inform her approach to supporting ERS employees and strengthening the systems that enable them to do their best work.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys baking, traveling, and becoming emotionally invested in episodes of The Great British Bake-Off with her husband (Joe) and dog (Ernie). Originally from New Orleans, she credits large pots of gumbo with helping her weather eleven New England winters (and counting!).
