Tara joined ERS in 2016 and is a leader on ERS' Human Capital Practice Area. She has worked with district and state partners nationally, with a focus on how districts can design schools to make teaching more attractive and sustainable. She supported Tulsa Public Schools to create guidebooks that illustrated how schools could organize their staffing and schedules to dramatically increase time for teacher collaboration and coaching cycles. In Nashville, she supported a cohort of schools to create schedules that enable teacher leaders to spend 50% of their time co-teaching with rookie teachers.

During the pandemic, she led the creation of the COVID Comeback Models– a set of adaptable blueprints to support schools and systems craft hybrid and remote schedules, staff roles, and district-wide structures.

She has also worked with districts to redesign the annual school planning process to strengthen support for school leaders to make effective school design and resource decisions.

Prior to joining ERS, Tara taught elementary school in Richmond, California for five years. During that time, she served as a support coach for beginning teachers and a school director for a summer enrichment program for low-income middle school students. She holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management, where she was co-chair of the Yale Education Leadership Conference, and a B.A. in Economics from Bryn Mawr College. She is an alumna of Teach for America and Education Pioneers.

Outside of work, Tara loves exploring national parks, biking along the Charles River, and spending time with her nieces and nephew.
