Taran is a member of the funding practice area. His work focuses on helping school districts better understand how their money is being spent in and across schools. Recently, Taran worked on a project that analyzed school district spending on teacher professional development. He has previously worked on resource allocation analyses in Cleveland and New York State.
Taran's interest in data analysis and non-profit work began in Bangalore, India, where he worked in a team to construct an index of corruption across Indian cities. In college, Taran studied physics and economics and taught English to recent immigrants.
In his spare time, Taran plays the drums and enjoys trying new foods from around the world.
