Analyst
Tommy, in his role as an analyst, formulates hypotheses, evaluates data, and places findings in context to help district partners improve student experiences and outcomes. Currently, he works with Dallas Independent School District’s Racial Equity Office. Specifically, he is developing dashboards for school/district leaders and the public detailing progress towards Dallas’ equity goals.
Before working at ERS, Tommy conducted research on Grow Your Own teacher pipeline programs at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform under Professor Matthew Kraft. This research has helped define and contextualize this emerging field. Additionally, Tommy contributed to a meta-analysis of hundreds of K-12 tutoring studies in this role.
Outside of work and outdoor pursuits, Tommy enjoys exploring coffee shops, writing snail mail, studying maps, and indulging in reality television. Tommy also is a volunteer hike guide for the Friends of the Fells and a board member of the Network for Social Justice.
