Associate
In her role as an associate, Valentina carries out various analyses to support strategic resource allocation and evidence-based recommendations for ERS district partners. Currently, she is working in the Dallas Independent School District project, an extremely exciting opportunity to serve the district she used to teach at. This project involves conducting a resource equity diagnostic and identifying key racial equity priorities by building a shared understanding of student-experienced resource use in Dallas ISD and continue learning recovery efforts laser-focused on racial equity while building towards the board and community’s vision for a more equitable future.
Prior to her time at ERS, Valentina served as a Public Policy Fellow in the Boston Mayor’s Office, where she supported the Green New Deal for BPS and the creation of the Children’s Cabinet. She is also a former 9th grade social studies teacher at North Dallas High School. Outside of the classroom, she served as a fellow for the Best-in-Class Coalition and supported the work in diversifying the teacher workforce in North Texas. Valentina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in History and Economics from Texas A&M University, and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Analysis from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
During her free time, Valentina loves cooking fun recipes, trying great restaurants, traveling, and adventuring wherever possible.
