Opened in 2011, UP Academy Boston invests in schoolwide systems and routines and put structures in place to build stronger relationships between students and teachers. As a result, students are succeeding both personally and academically. By embracing a set of schoolwide values, UP Academy creates an atmosphere of rigor and joy, one that leads students to internalize important, positive lifelong values. Students now have dedicated time each week to focus on character development and personal growth. Furthermore, students have made significant gains academically as student proficiency rates have roughly doubled, making UP Academy #1 across the state among middle schools in student growth in math.
