Chicago Public Schools Professional Development Project

This project began as a result of a concern about how to strengthen the professional development of teachers and leaders throughout the Chicago Public Schools. Leaders of the district as well as of the philanthropic community were simultaneously raising questions about how to create a more effective system of high quality professional development. The recommendations proposed in this document and the standards for continuing assessment of quality professional development have been developed with the support and input of that leadership as well as the leadership of the Chicago Teachers Union.
