K-8 In-Person Transition Staffing Tool

As part of our suite of tools to support districts in their SY20-21 reopening plans, we have created this Transition Staffing Tool for leaders to use to manage the transition from an all remote start to an in-person re-opening. Leaders can use it to answer the following questions:

  • With the staff that I have in each school, what percent of students can I bring back in-person during the next phase of reopening? And therefore, what percent of opt-in requests for in-person learning can each school meet?
  • How disruptive to student-teacher relationships is the transition likely to be? I.e. to what extent will students retain their original teacher from the remote start of school?

Use the tool

Note: This tool focuses on in-person seat availability for grades K-8, based on your current staffing and desired in-person group size maximum/target remote staffing ratios; it does not include grades 9-12 where the factors for staffing are more complex.
