Part 1: Setting the Stage begins the core content for ERS’ Strategic Budget Partner Retreat.

All sessions are designed with best practice in mind:

  • Direct instruction is complemented by moments of self-reflection and team application.
  • Ideally, teams would come together to complete each session and engage in discussion in the moment. That’s simply not possible for many of us right now. So, if you will be watching the flipped content individually, please be sure to come together to discuss insights and takeaways for you and your district.

  • Save a copy of this to record your responses to reflection questions as you go.

Step 2: Context setting: The role of the Strategic CFO

  • Read: The Strategic CFO Guide
    • Read p. 1-5, focusing on Introduction & Mindset Shifts
    • We will read more of the Guide in Part 3. However, if you wish to read that sooner, skim the rest and consider how your role fits into or complements the Strategic Practices outlined. 
  • OPTIONAL - Read: The Education Combination (includes the dimensions of resource equity)
