Remote Learning Checklist

Guide to creating a strategic remote school schedule

Building a strategic schedule is a challenge every school leader faces, every year. Now, with so many systems moving to remote learning, the scheduling challenge is as complicated as ever.

To help school and district leaders develop strategic remote school plans, we’ve created a Remote Learning Checklist. It offers clear, straightforward guidance to help K-12 leaders think differently about schedules, staffing and professional support in a fully remote environment.

The Checklist is grounded in three guiding principles:

  1. Keep it simple. Make remote school doable for students, families and educators.
  2. Prioritize equity. Ensure students with the greatest needs have access to high-quality support.
  3. Do what works. Implement proven research-backed practices for educating students.

We hope this resource, combined with our Remote Scheduling Companion, helps paint a picture of how leaders can organize people, time and money to address students’ academic and social-emotional needs in this uniquely challenging time.
