This short video was created to offer advice to principals considering implementing a student-based budgeting system, also known as weighted-student funding. Leo Flanagan, principal at the Edwards Middle School in Charlestown, MA, gives a firsthand account of how managing a school budget can change a principal’s job. This video serves to help other principals understand both the benefits and challenges of this kind of change. It was originally created for ERS district partners Austin Independent School District and Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
